The Girl Who Lived (for Harry Potter)

There's something incredibly magical about Christmas that makes it the perfect time of year to start a Harry Potter blog.

My name is Emma-Rose and I am a massive fan of the bespectacled wizard. I was 13 when Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was first released in the cinemas and at first I was utterly uninterested. When my school ran a trip to see the film, I grumbled to my friend, 'It'll be rubbish, it's for kids'.

How wrong I was.

There were trolls, castles, tragic deaths, dark lords and a young girl with frizzy hair who was a bit of a know-it-all (funnily enough the last one seemed rather familiar to me at the time...). I was hooked. Since then I've read the books and watched the films many times over, as well as having spent possibly the best four hours of my life at the Warner Brothers Studio Tour.

In this blog I hope to post about all things Harry Potter; from the films and books to crafts and locations, as well as some non-HP fantasy/ sci-fi bits and pieces. I'm also very open to ideas, so feel free to let me know if there's something you'd like me to discuss or review.

Almost 14 years on from the first time I watched Philosopher's Stone and I'm still hoping for my Hogwarts letter. It's just lost in the post, right?
